Solidarity with Alberto Rosselli, author of the right, threatened by extremists
There are people who are fighting a battle for every story really free. Why? Because they deeply love freedom. Here his friend Alberto Rosselli (journalist and writer Genoese) is one such person. That has been repeatedly threatened by Turkish extremists "at any time of day or night they call home, mobile and wherever they are, threatening to cut her throat to him and his wife.." Why? Because in his latest book, "The Armenian Holocaust " (Edizioni Solfanelli) said "how in the early twentieth century and a half million Armenian Christians were massacred by troops from Islamic Kurdish-turkish. Also in 1896 the Sultan Abdul Hamid ordered the one that has gone down in history as the massacre at Urfa. The militia forced the sultan to flee terrified about 3 thousand Armenians in the local cathedral, which then set fire, killing all the faithful. Not content, including 100 thousand women kidnapped and forced an equal number of Christians to convert to? Islam. But the genocide itself - says Rosselli - was designed in 1913 when the Central Committee of the Young Turks as genocide planned through the development of efficient paramilitary structure, the Special Organization (OS), coordinated by two doctors, Nazim and Shakir. In a speech on March 25, 1915, Dr. Nazim, Executive Secretary Committee, said: The Jemiet (Assembly) decided to save the motherland from the ambitions of this accursed race (the Armenians) and to take care to remove this stain that obscures the Ottoman history. The Jemiet, unable to forget all the shots and the old bitterness, he decided to annihilate all Armenians living in Turkey, not even one left alive, and in this regard has been given to the government wide freedom of action. The first massacre took place 24 April l915 when 500 Armenian leaders of the Movement were imprisoned and strangled with wire. In a 1917 report by the official German doctor Hans Stoffels reported to have observed in Mosul (northern Iraq) villages with thousands of Armenians decomposing bodies. The children - he says - previously raped, sodomized, and tortured in horrible ways. Then they invented the useful combustion: the Armenian prisoners were thrown alive into the boilers of the locomotives to provide additional energy to the media. The last murder, always tells Rosselli, occurred in 1922 in Izmir, when the new republican regime of Kemal Ataturk, who continued to deny the massacre, he killed about 100 thousand Greek and Armenian civilians. "Rosselli, tells us also that" the extermination of Christians Anatolian has already been recognized by the government of Israel in 1994, the Russian Parliament, Bulgaria and Cyprus in 1995, the Vatican and the European Parliament in 2000. Accurate and extensive reconstruction of historical events that led Europe to impose "the recognition of genocide by Ankara" as a prerequisite of Turkish integration into the EU. "
" The book - says Rosselli - came out in 2007. After several months I began to receive threatening phone calls at home, both in my concerns, both to my wife. Always different voices telling us that we were the bastards who would kill us and so on. It also followed calls to the messages of the same tone via e-mail. At that puntomi went to the police station to report it, but it was useless. It seems, in fact, that the calls are from abroad, as well as e-mail. In practice, suggested that I let it go and not to give a weight too much of it. The point is that these gentlemen know perfectly reveal my moves and those of my wife. I even know a dog and his name. And this can only mean one thing: on the one year I monitor closely. "The situation that has frightened most Rosselli took place Saturday, September 27, the day on which to Bracciano Lake, a charming town on Lake Bracciano, Lazio, was Arché getting the international literary prize, for his own book. The year before had won the same award for the essay "On Turkey and Europe." That afternoon, while he was in a hotel in the area, a voice with a foreign accent called him on the phone in the room and once volta lo ha minacciato di morte, coprendolo di insulti.
Perché Il Giornale, in the edition of Genoa, he's busy with an article by Rino Di Stefano. "These days I have called the BBC in London, the French daily Le Figaro, the drafting of national Sky, Vatican Radio and The Gazette - says Rosselli - Monday, December 8, for example, the Armenian Television broadcaster State, sent a report about my case, citing your article. It all started after the publication. For about a week near silence. I was just contacted by a friend and acquaintance. Then, suddenly, the news was picked up by numerous Internet sites that have published the full review. It was a chain. Just in these hours is the news the Federation of European Armenians, Wednesday, December 3, presented to the European Parliament in Brussels a report which, citing what you have written, he pulled my name to that of journalist Dogan turkish Ozguden and Professor Ronald Monsch, they also threatened Turkish extremists, for speaking publicly about the Armenian genocide. I know for a fact that, until now, the article was translated into English, turkish and Armenian. For example, there has been published in full on the online newspaper The Italo-European, a journal of culture and study Italian and English, common in all European countries. But it also came Oltreatlantico. In Canada, published by the Italo-Canadian Courier, In the United States appeared in a newspaper in English and Armenian. In short, this story had spread that really did not expect. "According to Rosselli, to act as a sounding board of the Newspaper Article has been especially the Armenian Community in Rome, shortly after learning of the publication, released immediately text in all its media channels. One of the first to report the item was the site Zatik Friendship Association Armena.Senza Italo-count the various publications, newspapers and periodicals, that somehow they reported the news a bit ' everywhere, as it did just the BBC. "Perhaps - Rosselli says - has been the effect that Saviano has sparked all this interest. Even if I must say, the central point is a problem of international politics, as the entry of Turkey into Europe. The European Union has put in Ankara, as a condition for Turkey's integration and the recognition of genocide by Ankara. Recognition that, incidentally, has not yet happened. No later than Tuesday, December 2, Dutch MEP Ria Oomen-Ruijten, European People's Party, presented the draft version of his 2008 report on Turkey at the Foreign Affairs Commission of the European Parliament. And it is a fact objectively significant that this presentation occurred late and in front of a tiny audience of MEPs, known for their support hearted commitment to Turkey, as well as some journalists Anatolia. The interest, I mean, is not the highest level. And it does not recognize the Armenian Holocaust, does nothing but worsen the position of Turkey towards Europe. "We express
friend Alberto Rosselli, free man and historian, all our sympathy. Do not let him alone and do not let only those who are fighting the "good fight" for the culture non - conformist. That is a battle for truth.
