With the gradual emergence of analytic philosophy in Italy in recent decades, increasing the usefulness of a text summary of the terminology and of the tools used in that vein. The object of logic is proposed to explain - not to say 'demystify' - the shape of the logic in a manner that is accessible but also systematically, constant reference to historical and philosophical to the impact of the techniques described. The first part outlines some of the basic distinctions of logic that are often omitted in contemporary hand, and the second reviews the construction and symbolism of four families of deductive systems, and the third discusses some of the nodes in applicants to the school analytic philosophy, then we will review some of the solutions proposed.
Richard Davies has studied and taught philosophy at Trinity College, Cambridge (PhD, 1992). He is currently a researcher at the University of Bergamo, where he worked on theoretical philosophy and history of philosophy. He is the author of two books on Descartes (Descartes' Cultivation of the Intellect, 1999; e Descartes: Belief, Scepticism and Virtue, 2001) e di diversi articoli riguardanti la logica, la metafisica, l’etica e la storia della filosofia, apparsi su pubblicazioni italiane e internazionali.
