And in this context could not miss a workshop for the Covenant, the European inizitiva promoted, among others, right from her heart. The Pact is an effective tool to promote effective action against climate change, combining action at local and regional level. Recall that more than 1,800 cities have signed the Covenant and were then given the goal of reducing CO2 emissions in their territory of at least 20% by 2020. This is definitely an unprecedented move - both for the breadth of participation that the concreteness of the goals - where local authorities and regions take on a European vision for achieving local action plan on energy and climate, thus giving a great contribution to the success of the 2020 strategy. New solutions are emerging, but at the same time there are challenges that already local authorities and regions will face in the months and years to come. One of these is to find new models of local governance, integrated management of the administrative management and strengthening of participatory democracy. On 6 October in Brussels, the signatories of the Covenant and stakeholders will present innovative solutions, inspiring new shares and offering an opportunity for participants to exchange views with their peers and with representatives of European institutions will be invited to listen and participate the debate.
