Question: PARKING along the lake. I PIU 'CARI AND MORE' CLOSE THE LAKE.
The councilors Errico, Ramoni and Travaini of PD-IDV group, ask politely that the next City Council to be included on the agenda the following query.
For years, parking in general and in particular those along the lake are a sore point for aronesi and tourists, not only for issues relating to their inadequacy, but also those relating to the physical dimensions of space and their costs. (See comparative statement attached). As a citizen I also raised these issues in the past.
Unfortunately, the issue of parking paid the price for two prejudices.
1 The general trend with the parking lots to raise cash for municipal budgets.
2 The creeping tendency, I would say ideology, to "punish" the cars and drivers.
The administration, in consonance with what we have repeatedly emphasized in its programs and the commitment necessary to move from a grim city on these issues, to a more service to citizens and more inviting for tourists and permanent. That is more in line with the best city in the lake. On the contrary, I regret that in this matter, for now, there has been in practice only a 'subject to payment of an extension of the ticket.
however, considered that the objective management strategies that will certainly be announced and confirmed several times hours into Government, we question
the City Council to know:
1. If you intend to review, with appropriate speed, floor plans, measures and fees for parking, with particular reference to those on the long-lake
2. How much time is expected to announced the "mobility plan designed to give long-lasting remedies to the problems of traffic and parking to the renovation of the platforms with removal of architectural barriers, new roundabouts, and complicated restructuring of unnecessary signage, establishment of pedestrian and cycle paths, for any contacts with private and elevations for the construction of an underground car park in Via Monte Zeda, bus shuttles. "
3. What timescale is envisaged for the project financing aimed at the creation of parking silos in Largo company of Quaranta and Town Hall Square.
Arona, 31.05.2010
Sincerely
Diego Errico Alessandro Mauro Ramoni Travaini
