ASSASSINATION ANNIVERSARY COMMEMORATION OF GIORGIO Ambrosoli
July 12 was commemorated in several places in our country the 31st anniversary of the assassination of George Ambrosoli. A lake, it was long remembered where he had stayed, and especially in Meina Ghiffa, in whose cemetery he is buried. Here he is entitled to the lakefront, where, outside the town hall and the plaque remember, there was a small ceremony with the participation of family members, citizens, authorities and representatives of the "Free", including myself, from Arona and Verbania. Free to Ambrosoli titled its local garrison. A few days before he left the library an essay entitled "George Ambrosoli. In the name of an Italy clean (and Aragno) by Sandro Gerbi, historian and journalist. The latest essay contains reflections and testimonies. In one of his son Umberto is a significant finding: that his father, a moderate, was particularly appreciated and defended in a progressive, far from his ideas: "There were trovarsi soprattutto le persone che mi apparivano sostenere le nostre idee di giustizia, di coerenza, di linearità. Vi si applicò con competenza e tenacia, affrontando crescenti intimidation and then increasingly explicit threats. Because many would agree that the proposed rescue who had always shared two things: that Sindona, who had seized the entire liquidity remain unpunished and that lose out, covering the hole, was the Bank of Italy, which is the national community . Ambrosoli was so aware of the risks he was running, which in 1975 wrote a letter to his wife Annaloro will that still moves deeper feelings and should be read between the schools. They have been reading in front of his tombstone: "Dearest Anna, .... It is clear that in any case, I will pay a very high price for the job ... not I complain at all because for me it was a 'unique opportunity to do something for my country ... In forty years, suddenly, I've been in politics and in the name of the state and not a party ... and I have always worked only in the interests of country, of course creandomi only enemies. Whatever happens, though, you know what to do and I am sure you know very well done. You'll need you to bring up children and grow in respect of those securities in which we believed ... have knowledge of their duties towards themselves, towards the family in the transcendent sense that I have, to the country, call Italy or Europe ... will be called a hard life for you, but you're a girl so good that You'll be forever and you will, as always, your job at any cost. "
" Whatever happens. The Story of a free man "(and Sironi) is the title of a beautiful essay published in 2009 and I remember with a preface by Carlo Azeglio Ciampi and written by his son Giorgio, Umberto Ambrosoli, which in 1979 was 6 years old.
